Skip Way's Paint Box

Hi. My name is Skip Way. I turned 65 on 7/23/09. I have been fighting ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) since 2002. I had to quit my day job and move out of my 2nd floor apartment in mid-2004, whereupon I moved in with my brother, Larry Way, in Half Moon Bay, California. At the end of August, 2008, I fell and broke my leg and ended up in a skilled nursing facility in Belmont, California, where I now reside.

My other sibling, Andrea Way, an accomplished artist whose work may be found in several distinguished museums, turned me on to the Windows Paint program in 2005. Since that time, I have done over 2,000 Paint drawings. They give me a creative outlet and a reason to wake up each day -- now that I can no longer do my previous artistic endeavor, namely, photography and making collages of my photos.

My good friend, Kurt Freund, known to his friends as Durf, a computer ace and pinball wizard (among other things), who now resides in Colorado, persuaded me that I should share my drawings with a greater audience than just my friends and relatives. Thus, Durf set up and designed this website for that purpose. He manages and organizes the site. The drawings are mine. All other creative and design efforts are the result of Durf's ingenuity and hard work, and I am extremely grateful for his efforts.

So . . . thanks for dropping in and spending some time. Please feel free to share the link to this site with your friends. And, if you have comments or questions, please drop me a line. I hope you enjoy your stay!

The artist has also created slideshows that you may view on YouTube. Search for “skipwaytube”.
